EVERY Saturday, we offer FRESH breads of our recipe (round italian loafs for $1.99 or Ciabatta $2.99) get them while they last!
Come check out a true mom and pop Italian market -- very similar to the one from the “old neighborhood”. The reason I opened Zeppe’s; and the concept of Zeppe’s is based on my very own childhood of going to Italian places similar to mine. We don’t focus on fast food—we focus on quality. At Zeppe’s we slice every single ingredient for every sandwich or deli order, right after you order it. Nothing is pre-sliced or pre-packaged. I also believe in fair prices, grocery stores have to put items on sale to be similar in price to our full line of available deli meats and cheeses. We carry fresh bakery, bread, salads and a selection of my very own homemade sauces and Giardiniera. Choose from our freshly sliced hot and cold Sub sandwiches, or create your own. We put a quarter pound of meat on each sandwich. We also have a full assortment of unique, and specialty Italian grocery items and ingredients as well as frozen pastas and pre-cooked dishes.

Zeppe's Italian Market grows in Oswego

Joe Gambino has brought a little bit of Italy to Oswego with Zeppe's Italian Market. Located next door to Solo Liquors in Mason Square, which he also owns and operates, Zeppe's opened its doors nearly 6 years ago.

Joking with several residents about visiting some well-known authentic Italian delis in the near western suburbs, he knew this was something Oswego would embrace.

Gambino has always been a believer in small "mom and pop" shops. Growing up, his father would travel and spend more money to patronize the local business owners in the area. He knows people will do the same with his store.

What sets Zeppe's apart, Gambino says, is his picky taste. It is his goal to make sure that all the food that he sells is top of the line. If he can't make the best, he will find the place that does.

Zeppe's offers a large variety of authentic Italian foods. The store is known for its homemade sauces, desserts and fresh pastas. The aroma when you walk in the store will make you hungry for some good Italian food.

With his love of cooking, Gambino prepares and packages his marinara sauce in convenient containers daily. He prepares one specialty sauce per week. He also offers vodka sauce, spicy sauce and alfredo sauce. Along with these sauces, Zeppe's also sells homemade Italian sausage, bruschetta, salads and lasagna. They can be purchased fresh or frozen.

Gambino's special secret recipe for lasagna has been passed along through several generations.

Having a get-together or a family party? Zeppe's caters. Gambino offers beef by the pound, mostaccioli, lasagna, meat and cheese trays, along with several salads and sauces.

If you need some olives or artichokes to complete that perfect Italian dinner, Gambino also has a full line of unique, specialty Italian grocery items. Or pick up a loaf of fresh baked bread from the famous Palermo Bakery.

And speaking of bakeries, you can also choose from a wide selection of sweets such as cannoli, tiramisu, Italian cookies or gelato to compliment your meal.

Zeppe's Italian Market is at 2757 Route 34 in the Mason Square shopping center.
